# SHART Expedition Team # My Vision I love running games as a Game Master (GM) and creating collaborative storytelling. I designed this to be more collaborative by loosening the reign of the narrative to the players to describe what happens within their realms of control, their characters. I want to make a game that is skill based and all other stats are derived from the skills, you are what you are good at and not because you are born or built certain way to be good at it. I agree there would be some physical limitation based on your genetics (I am including dwarves, elves and humans). # World Setting This is the same world as the one we've been playing in, The Shattered Isles, with some changes. We are going to use a homebrew game design where magic has some bounded realism to it. Long time ago, the ancestors of the Shattered Isle, reached the pinnacle of magic and technology. Their prosperity brought the ire of the gods as their faith towards them dwindled as they attributed their enriched lives fulfilled not by divine blessings but through their deeds. One day, a catastrophe struck the lands. Thunderstorms, floods, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes devasted cities and sunk many parts of the world under the waves. Scholars today call this the Sundering, wrath of gods. Centuries passed and the descendants of the survivors slowly rebuilt their own civilizations in different parts of the new island groups. Society of Historical and Archeological Relic Treasury, SHART for short, hails from small island called Luna Island and is looking to unearth the history and share it with the broad public in hopes to recover the relics of the past and enrich the current world. The Shattered Isles seas are turbulent and treacherous to navigate and many who go to places beyond well chartered area, one would expect certain death. Recently a star flew over the northern parts of the islands and the seas have calmed down, volcanoes woke from its slumbers created new safe passages to an island to the west of the *Luna Island*. SHART quickly took this opportunity to organize an expedition group to chart the formerly unapproachable island with some brave explorers across the islands. This is where you come in. ## Map of the island ![[10 Publish/12 Game Designs/The Expedition/Uncharted Island.png]] ## Competitors Of course, SHART is not the only ones coming to map and survey this island, Troxann Collectors, elephantfolk mercantile company, and Black Plume company, Tabaxi organization has been rumoured to make a land to claim stakes of this land to claim the riches the island might hoard under its rush jungle. - [[Troxann Collectors]] - [[Black Plume Company]] ## Technology This is pre-gunpowder era but black powders are present for some alchemists to create primitive explosives. Engineering is present but it is not sophisticated enough to create a siege engines but enough to make man powered cranes. The fallen civilizations however had more sophisticated systems some might even seem magical or divine. ## The Base Team - SHART Head - leader of the expedition. - Chef - in charge of the provisions might be requesting the team to find something edible to boost the morale and keep people from being hungry. - Master Engineer - in charge of maintaining equipment and constructing buildings to make sure people have roof over their heads and quality of life is maintained.
