Hence spirits from Astral Sea would be active during the day and the Dream Forest during the night due to their power being more prominent. Spirits are beings from Heartland ([[World - Planes#Heartland (Bapta'Sha)|Bapta'Sha]]) formed by people's imagination manifest as an entity but how they exactly form is unclear. What is clear is that they like to dwell in [[World - Planes#Dream Forest (Vapna'Taab)|Vapna'Taab]] and actively comes out during the night time or some are mature enough to possess living beings and live among the beings in the Heartland. Minor and Lesser spirits can dwell inside of a crystals that are big enough to house them some of the lesser spirits can possess creatures and take over its agency. Greater spirits can sometimes act like a person and even possess someone that can borne two results; merge of the spirit and soul to become a new individual or replacement of the soul with the spirit. The former is called the reborn and the other is replaced. The reborn usually is a mishap where it retains neither of the memories as a result of the spirit consuming most of the memories in the process. the replaced is more a cunning kind where they retain some of the memories of the host either to live in their place or prey on another person to possess. Spirits are drawn to people of Heartlands because they can offer imagination and memories. Some take them in non-violent way while others devour their prey to consume it. [[Lehir the Lazy]] is a Lesser Spirit who likes to prey on the young and the old sentient beings and likes to devour the bodies whole as manifesting as a giant eel with saw-like mouth. It mostly lurks in the veil, a gap between the planes.
